Donors

How do I find a specific fundraiser or team to support? Simply use the search bar on our fundraising platform to find a person, team, or company by name and donate directly to their page.

Is my donation tax-deductible? Yes. For donations of HK$100 or more, an official tax-deductible receipt will be issued upon request.

Volunteering

How can I volunteer to support fundraisers or events? We have many volunteer opportunities, from helping at major events to supporting fundraisers with their digital outreach. Please contact us through our website to join our volunteer pool.

What kind of support does OSC provide to volunteers? A: We provide all volunteers with briefings, on-site coordination, and formal recognition for your contribution, such as a volunteer certificate and, where applicable, access to events.

How does OSC ensure my donation is used effectively? A: Your donation enters a central fund that supports multiple local charities. Each charity is chosen through a rigorous vetting and due diligence process to ensure they deliver high-impact work. Our transparent reporting, backed by the South China Morning Post and RTHK, allows you to see the impact of your generosity.

What payment methods do you accept? We accept online donations via credit card, PayMe, FPS, and Alipay. You can also send a cheque or make a direct bank transfer.

Fundraisers

How do I set up my own fundraising page?
It’s easy! Our platform provides a user-friendly tool to get you started. Click on “Personalise your fundraiser,” and you’ll find simple instructions and templates to build your page, set your goal, and share your story.

Are there minimum fundraising targets? In some cases, yes. To unlock specific benefits like complimentary event entries, there are set fundraising targets. For example, individuals/schools might aim for HK$5,000, while a corporate team might target HK$50,000. These details are clearly outlined during the registration process.

What tools and support does OSC provide to help me succeed?
We provide a comprehensive “Spirit of Giving” Toolkit, which includes your personalised fundraising page, shareable social media content, fun quizzes, and ideas to inspire your network and help you reach your goal.

Can my school or club organise a dedicated fundraising event for OSC? Absolutely! We love community-led events. Please contact us to discuss your idea. We can provide support with event toolkits, guidance on permits, and promotional backup to make your event a success.

Non-profit communities

Our NGO is not a direct OSC beneficiary this year. Can we still benefit from the OSC platform? Yes. We are committed to strengthening the entire non-profit sector. We actively leverage our network to connect promising projects with potential funding and collaborative opportunities for greater social impact.

Can our NGO gain exposure by participating in OSC’s fundraising events? Definitely. We encourage other NGOs to participate in our public events and showcases. They are excellent opportunities to connect with donors, volunteers, and the wider community to celebrate our collective impact on Hong Kong.
