Children in Hong Kong often read textbooks to prepare for exams, allowing them to excel in reading comprehension abilities. But their actual interest in reading is often low or non-existent. Bring Me A Book™ Hong Kong recognises the need to grapple with the literacy crisis among youngsters, and is dedicated to the empowerment of parents and educators to spread the joy and advantages of reading to children.

Project Summary: Lifelong Love of Reading, funded by OSC, strives to promote pleasure reading among local primary school children and their parents. A curated library stocking 100 new books will be launched in six primary schools, which will be accompanied by interesting workshops to arouse children’s motivation to read. In addition, the organisation will provide storytelling training for parents before they host reading sessions throughout the school year.
Beneficiaries: 5520 children
