The organization was established in 2016 with the support of the Sustainable Knowledge Transfer Project Fund of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. SLCO-CR develops and provides self-sustainable community services and social ventures based on linguistics research, empirical evidence and experience in frontline services, promoting sign bilingualism in communication, education and social inclusion to create a diversified community without communication barriers.

Effective Signed Intervention for SEN Children
Project Summary
The project aims to promote sign language as an alternative strategy to support SEN children’s language and communication development, and to encourage caretakers and trainers to use sign language to complement spoken instructions in daily learning activities and training, enhancing intervention effectiveness with better communication. The project provides sign language learning and experiential activities, teaching materials and training to SEN children, their families, teachers and related professionals.
