Each year, Operation Santa Claus launches its public fundraising campaign ahead of Christmas, celebrating a season of caring, sharing, and giving. Here is a range of donor-led fundraising events welcoming public participation to support those in need across Hong Kong.
The fair is a celebration for our colleagues and their families and friends, and especially for the wider community, as it allows for everyone to come together to celebrate the holiday season with food and drink, live entertainment, workshops and Christmas shopping for the whole family. And the best part is, the event raises funds for Operation Santa Claus, an annual fundraising campaign which supports local and regional non-profit organisations.
While the fair adopts a different theme each year, it remains a uniquely community event, involving not only our Community Ambassador team but also other Swire group companies, tenants, business partners and residents, who all volunteer their time and resources to raise funds for this worthy cause.
The inaugural Hong Kong Open took place in 1959, and the Club has played host to it every year since. Indeed, along with the Masters Tournament at Augusta National, the Hong Kong Open is one of only two professional golf tournaments that have been held at the same venue every year for more than half a century.
Since 1987, the Hong Kong Golf Club has hosted its own charity golf event – the annual Cup of Kindness. Traditionally held in the latter months of the year and involving the participation of hundreds of the Club’s members, the Cup of Kindness draws sponsorship from a broad spectrum of Hong Kong companies to help raise much-needed funds for Operation Santa Claus.
